What is the ArthroStim?

Although adjustments at Intun ChiroCare are all customized to our practice members and their plan of care, you have probably seen—and felt—the ArthroStim at some point. The ArthroStim is a handheld instrument that Dr. Renee uses at the beginning of your adjustment.

While some chiropractic offices might use it to administer adjustments, Dr. Renee typically uses it at a lower setting on trigger points to prepare the body before a manual adjustment. By targeting trigger points (involuntary tight, tender spots in the muscle) with the ArthroStim we see increased blood flow to the area, which will help lead back to a healthy, relaxed state. Plus, many practice members just find it relaxing—like a high-speed massage! Another benefit of using the ArthroStim is that it stimulates the brain-body connection through the nerve receptors. It all guides your body to healing! All of these things make for a better adjustment.

The ArthroStim tool can be used very precisely as it can deliver anywhere from a few ounces of force all the way up to a maximum threshold of as high as 40 pounds of force. It can be used as a less forceful alternative to manual adjustments, which makes it very helpful when working with babies and littles, as well as with people who might be more sensitive, or need specific attention to a certain spot. The Arthrostim tool can produce up to twelve thrusts each second; which is a higher frequency than other methods or tools. Dr. Renee is all about finding what works best for our community, and this is a great tool that makes a big difference for many practice members.
