What are the Scans? Part 2: The Status EMG (SEMG) Scan
The sEMG scan focuses on muscle tone and balance by evaluating the amount of energy running through the muscles along the sides of your spine.
The function of the muscles along your spine is to support and move your core—and hold up your body! These muscles are controlled by the nerves running within it. This test measures how much energy is being used or expended in order to maintain balance and posture. Over time, daily stress can overwork these muscles which is shown as too much energy being expended which can lead to the body reacting with a fight/flight (chronic stress) response. Muscles compensate for pain and/or spinal subluxation by tensing up to brace and guard. By precisely measuring muscle activity and energy, your progress can be monitored as your spine regains balance and control.
